GLOBAL MISSIONS

At Narrabeen Baptist Church we seek to follow Jesus’ instructions to be “witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8). We partner with a variety of ministries, activities and organisations that are local (Northern Beaches), regional (NSW / Australia) and international (Asia, South America, East Africa).

NBC partnership can take many forms, including direct financial support from the church, members spending significant time or finances, use of facilities, publicity and, perhaps most important of all, prayer.

At Narrabeen we support a number of people working overseas in various ministry capacities. The people we support are all working under the auspices of established sending organisations, but are supported financially both directly from the church as well as from many members. The people we support include Steve and Sandra in Japan with CMS |www.cms.org.au|, and two families in SE Asia with GiA |www.globalinteraction.org.au|.

Baptist World Aid Australia|www.shareanopportunity.org| is a Christian aid agency that seeks to fund sustainable community development and child sponsorship programs. Our Sunday School program supports this organisation, as do many members of our church.

RURAL MINISTRY SPONSORSHIP FUND

Our Link Missionaries Richard and Cora Milligan are based in Nyngan in rural NSW. We are partnering with them in establishing a Rural Ministry Sponsorship Fund to help cover the costs of ministry camps and conferences for those who have been affected by the drought. We hope to support families by alleviating the financial burden so that they can enjoy fellowship, encouragement and teaching at ministry events.

If you wish to contribute, please make a donation to Narrabeen Baptist Church with the descriptor “Rural Sponsorship”.

LOCAL
MISSION

CHRISTIAN SURFERS

Christian Surfers (CS) aims to be a "Christian presence & witness in the Aussie surf community", and does this by running camps and Bible-studies, connecting with local board-riders and the beach scene, and by running surf competitions. There are about 40 CS clubs across Australia, including one based at Narrabeen.

See |www.christiansurfers.org.au| for more information on CS, or contact the Church office for local contact details.

SILA

SILA is an organisation that trains people in literacy and translation skills, in order to be able to work in the field of Bible translation.  For many years we have supported Robyn Terrey, who works at the Melbourne SIL training centre, providing people with skills for their work both within Australia, and in many countries in our region |http://silaustralia.org.au/|.

BEACH MISSIONS

Beach Missions are an outreach activity that occur during the summer holidays in many campsites and caravan parks along the Australian coast. They are conducted under the umbrella of Scripture Union |www.nsw.su.org.au|, with each local mission being fairly autonomous in organisation and recruitment. Many people from Narrabeen Baptist are involved, primarily in the missions at Evan’s Head, Brunswick Heads and Bawley Point.

CAMPING MINISTRIES

From time to time people from Narrabeen Baptist are also involved in holiday camping ministries, such as Camp Kedron |www.campkedron.com| Tunel Ridge Ranch[www.tunelridge.com.au]and Crusaders |www.crusaders.edu.au|.
