NBC Youth Stand Up Paddleboarding

  • ProKayaks 11 Narrabeen Street Narrabeen, NSW, 2101 Australia (map)

NBC Youth is running March Mission Month every Friday night during March. The goal of March Mission Month is to run EXTRA-fun youth nights so that our regulars have an easy invite for their friends, and their friends can meet Jesus, connect with community, and be won to Him.

We’re kicking off Mission Month at Narrabeen Lagoon with a sunset on the water — stand up paddleboarding and kayaking as the sun drops behind the trees.

What will be involved?

We are meeting at ProKayaks (11 Narrabeen St, Narrabeen, under Limani Seafood Restaurant). There is street parking and a carpark nearby. For new people and younger youth, a parent should walk them over to the sign up table to make sure they have everything they need (including the signed waiver!). When you arrive, sign in with the youth leaders. Then grab a life jacket (PFD) and head out on the water either on a SUP or in a kayak (single or double). We are on the water from 6-8pm, with the sun setting at about 7:30pm. Then we will come off the water, get dry and have a sausage sanga. from 8-9pm, there will be picnic rugs, henna, chill vibes. Before the night ends we will hear a testimony and a talk about Jesus from the youth leaders, and the youth will break into discussion groups.

Then we will wrap up at 9pm and be picked up from ProKayaks

When: 6-9pm, 6 March

Drop-off/ Pick-up: ProKayaks (11 Narrabeen St, Narrabeen)

Cost: $20 per person, includes SUP/Kayak use, PFD fitting, and sausage sizzle. (please let us know if cost is a barrier, we’d love everyone to come). Payment can be made in cash or by EFTPOS.

What to bring: Come dressed in your swimmers, t-shirt/rashy to swim in. Ideally, wear shoes that can get wet (crocs are perfect!). Bring a towel and some warm dry clothes for when we are out of the water.

For Parents

Please fill in the waiver beforehand. If you forget, we will have copies available when you arrive.

The leaders will be on the water at all times and the youth will be limited in how far they can roam on the water. See the risk assessment here. All leaders have current WWCC and several have current first aid training. On shore, there will be an experienced SUP staff member who will teach us how to SUP and monitor the conditions.

If we have unsafe weather on Friday, we will notify families by 3pm and provide an alternative plan.

If your child has allergies, please advise Daniel (0448 326 699).
