Women's Clothes Swap Party

  • Narrabeen Baptist Church 13 Grenfell Avenue North Narrabeen, NSW, 2101 Australia (map)

Autumn/Winter Collection

Ladies, you’re invited to our free Autumn/Winter Clothes Swap— a clever and thrifty way to update your wardrobe, save money and help reduce textile waste. Your pre-loved clothes will find a new home (maybe you’ll see them on someone at Church - how fun!) and you’ll leave with ‘new’ second-hand items for your own closet.

This is an intergenerational event for all the Women of NBC, teens included! Come and have some fun as you connect with other women from Church.

WHEN: Saturday 28th March, 4.30pm-7pm
WHERE: NBC
COST: $0. Bring a small amount of food to add to the charcuterie table, up to 5 items of clothing, and a reusable bag.
Registration not required.

On the day:

  1. What to bring: Up to 5 items of clothing in excellent condition to swap - check out what items are accepted below. This 5-item limit makes it manageable for us to check and display all clothing before the swap starts and ensures we don’t have too many items left over. Please also bring a re-usable bag to take your items home in. We are asking everyone to bring something small to contribute to a giant Charcuterie table we will enjoy together before the swap begins.

  2. Check in: We’ll help you check in, confirm your items are suitable for swapping and exchange them for tokens. Each token can be swapped for one item of clothing. There is a 30-minute check-in time (4:30-5pm).

  3. Giant Charcuterie table: While the items are being sorted and displayed for the swap, you will enjoy mingling with your fellow NBC women and eating from the Charcuterie table together.

  4. Swap time: You’ll have one hour to browse all the clothing and find your ‘new’ items. Items will be organized by type - this is much quicker than by size and we don’t want to keep you waiting. There will be a designated change room and full-length mirrors to help you make your decision. We have some fun surprises planned for this time too.

  5. Keep swap etiquette in mind: To ensure our swap is fun, let's not hoard clothes, and if you no longer want an item, return it to the rack or table. If you have left-over tokens, give them to a fellow swapper. This will help us rehome as many clothes as possible.

  6. At the end of the swap: Take your treasures and tokens to the check-out desk.

  7. Casual invite to dinner: The swap will finish promptly at 7pm. For those who can, or would like to join us, some of us will be walking across to the Lake to grab takeaway and eat dinner together after the swap. This is optional, but you are warmly invited.
